Inspiration

For my second collection, I really wanted to make something that was influenced by the environment. Environmental issues have always been near and dear to my heart. Climate change is a huge issue and I wanted to bring that to light through my designs. I wanted to focus on a specific problem within the subject of climate change - coral reefs. The global temperature is rising and the corals are dying because of it. My first two looks are inspired by the beautiful corals found in reefs. My third look is inspired by all the coral that is dying. I chose to make the final look grey to represent the dying coral. I also chose to make it out of a reflective mylar to represent the fact that people need to literally “reflect” on how their actions are affecting the environment.
